Galvan manufactures its own copper-plated rods under a unique patented process (U.S. Patent #6,527,934) that applies a heavy, uniform coating of copper metallurgically bonded to a rigid steel core.
Galvan then factory-welds a conductor near the top of the rod, creating its “RUS Accepted” pigtail rod with a permanent, corrosion-free bond. No mechanical connector is needed. This simplifies installation and eliminates problems caused by clamps loosening over time and the safety hazards associated with exothermic welding in the field. They also reduce installation time.
Galvan offers copper plated pigtail rods in lengths from 5 to 15 feet and in diameters from ½ to 1 inch.
