Galvan Electrical Offers Free Downloads For Newly Drawn Specifications On Ground Rods, Clamps And Couplings

HARRISBURG, N.C. -- Unwilling to accept relaxed specifications supported by others within the industry, Galvan Electrical Products has completed its own detailed specifications for the ground rod electrodes, clamps and couplings it supplies to the electrical and utility markets.

Available for easy downloading at Galvan's website, www.galvanelectrical.com, the new specification covers materials, production and use guidelines for the full line of Galvan copper clad, stainless steel and hot-dip galvanized electrodes and joining products.

In developing the strict, comprehensive specification, the company includes references to respected standards agencies, including ANSI, ASTM, CSA, and UL.

The specification provides complete information on product characteristics, including materials, lengths, finished diameters, coating thicknesses, threads and markings. It also addresses Galvan test findings on adhesion, bending, surface evaluation, straightness and packaging. Included are details on threaded and threadless couplings as well as compression and bolted clamps.

Writing the specification is the latest service innovation from the North Carolina-based electrical products supplier. In a measure to simplify identification and eliminate inventory and installation mistakes, Galvan earlier this year began color-coding its line of copper and galvanized ground rods.

Galvan Industries is a major manufacturer of UL listed copper-clad, UL listed hot-dip galvanized and stainless steel ground rods and ancillary electrical products. Galvan introduced the first family of UL Listed galvanized ground rods in full compliance with the NEC. The company is also the largest capacity contract galvanizer in the Southeast.
